Hartlepool United head coach Pete Wild has warned there is no instant solution to the club's current problems, after taking charge last week.

Wild, who replaced Lee Clark, watched his side lose 1-0 at home to Tamworth on Saturday. The defeat extended Pools' run to six consecutive losses, leaving them 22nd in the National League table, three points from safety.

Poor Form and Low Scoring

Hartlepool's struggles have been stark. In their last 12 National League games, the club has won just once and lost nine times. Their tally of eight goals scored is the second-lowest in the division.

The poor form contrasts sharply with early-season optimism. After a busy summer of new signings, Pools started with back-to-back wins in August, but that confidence has now completely evaporated.

Wild's Message to Supporters

"We're not going to click our fingers or wave a magic wand and something is going to change," Wild told BBC Radio Tees.

"But in the next six to eight weeks, it will change and we will get it right."

Wild acknowledged that confidence is low but drew on his experience of similar situations. He has previously managed Oldham, Halifax, Barrow, Fleetwood and Tranmere Rovers, most recently keeping Tranmere in League Two at the end of last season.

"Every club I've ever had, I've walked into the situations and I've come out the other side," he said. "I've no doubt in my ability we'll come out of this, but experience tells me that if I tell you next week it's going to be completely different, that's a whole load of rubbish. It's going to take time to get better and that's what I'm going to try to do."
