Hartlepool United midfielder Nathan Sheron has made his 100th appearance for the club and is pushing for the team to build on last weekend's victory over Woking to mount a serious challenge this season.
Pools ended a run of three consecutive defeats with the win over Woking and now travel to the Aggborough Stadium to face Kidderminster Harriers on Friday at 19:45 BST, aiming to secure back-to-back victories.
Sheron reflects on turnaround
Sheron, 28, told BBC Radio Tees that the mood around the squad has shifted following the three points. "Last time I spoke to you it wasn't a nice place to be in but it is funny how things can change after one win," he said.
"We needed the win but now we have got to build on it, put the other games behind us, look forward and get as many points as we can."
The midfielder has adopted a measured approach to the team's prospects. "I've always gone off 'don't get too high, don't get too low'. It has not been nice losing three games in a row but we have bounced back and put it behind us. It is now on us to not drop our standards, push on and improve."
Milestone achievement
Sheron described reaching his 100th appearance as a proud moment. "I made my 100th appearance at the weekend so that was quite a proud achievement. Obviously a proud achievement at a massive club so I just want to keep adding to it."
He is now in his third year at Hartlepool United.
Kidderminster challenge ahead
Kidderminster Harriers sit eighth in the league after just one defeat in their opening six games, despite losing manager Adam Murray to AFC Barrow at the end of last season following their promotion from the National League North.
Sheron said the visitors will present a strong test. "They are a strong team, they know what they are doing. When they got promoted and the manager left you think they could struggle but they look like a group who are together and they will be bang up for the game."
