Hartlepool Borough Council is running a series of free summer cycling camps for local schoolchildren, in partnership with Bikeability Trust and The Cycle Partnership Ltd. The sessions take place at Elephant Rock events space, behind the Heugh Battery Museum on the Headland.
Learn 2 Ride camps
Two Learn 2 Ride camps are available for children in school years three to six who are still using stabilisers or ready to ride independently. These run on Monday 4 August and Tuesday 5 August.
One-hour sessions run throughout each day. Places are limited to six children per session, and only one booking per child is accepted.

Bikeability Level 1 with Obstacle Course camp
A Bikeability Level 1 with Obstacle Course camp takes place on Wednesday 6 August for children in school years four to six who can already ride a bike.
Participants sharpen cycling skills and earn their Bikeability Level 1 badge before tackling an obstacle course of fun challenges.
Two sessions run, each with 12 places available. Only one booking per child is accepted.

What to know
All sessions are led by fully qualified instructors. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Places are expected to fill quickly, so families are encouraged to book early.
